What’s Happening in Winston-Salem? November 2019

We are officially saying goodbye to spooky season, and entering all things holiday. The arrival of November means Thanksgiving is only four short weeks away, and before we know it, 2019 will be gone! We won’t get ahead of ourselves though. There is plenty going on in Winston Salem over the next few weeks, that the whole family can enjoy, like enjoying more delicious food and holiday festivities.

62nd Annual Greek Bake Sale

November 9th, 2019 | 8:30 AM - 7:30 PM

The best way to start the holidays? Lots and lots of amazing food! The annual greek bake sale will be serving pastries all day long (baklava anyone?) so you can load up on those whenever you’d like. Lunch and dinner will take place from 11 am until 7 pm, and they will be serving mousaka, chicken riganto, and so much more. Plus there will be baking demonstrations starting at 2 pm. My mouth is already watering. You can download the pre-order form on their homepage or email wsgreekmedia@gmail.com.

This is a first-ever for Winston Salem! Historic Bethabara Park is commemorating the original founding of Winston Salem, which took place on November 17th, 1753. All of the park buildings will be open for tours, so you can see the history for yourself and appreciate all the beauty of historic Winston Salem. Best of all - it’s free.

Reynolda's Estate-Wide Holiday Stroll

November 23rd, 2019 | 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Nothing is better than looking at holiday lights to get excited for Christmas. Kick-off the holiday season with your family at the beautiful Reynolda Estate. Their annual holiday stroll includes caroling, a carriage ride through the village, a look at their 1917 bungalow after hours, and a chance to see the Reynolda Greenhouse’s orchid display. Start your afternoon by making Christmas cards and drinking hot chocolate, followed by caroling in the reception hall. What a great way to get in the holiday spirit! Admission to the gardens and the village is free.

It’s a perfect time to start getting ready for the holidays, but to be sure you know what’s going on for the rest of the year, check out visit Winston Salem's event page.

About Olivia Orme

I grew up in the Northern Virginia Area, and spent my days in drama club and riding horses. Somehow, I found my way down south, and graduated from Wofford College with a degree in English and Political Science. Caught between loving the south, and missing home, Winston Salem seems to be the perfect in-between. My typical day revolves around my love for writing, and I hope to bring my love for learning and creativity to our clients!
